Nine Inch Nails Asks For Demo Submissions

By Carrie Borzillo for CDNow All Star Music News on October 1, 1999

Nine Inch Nails are looking for a new singer -- well, a female singer to handle some backing vocals on the road. As posted on the band's official Web site at www.nin.com Friday (Oct. 15), female singers can submit their demo tapes to P.O. Box 16948, Cleveland, Ohio, 44116.

In addition, Trent Reznor, who is constantly being approached by bands with demo tapes, is now actively soliciting the material by inviting bands to send their demos to P.O. Box 161095, Cleveland, Ohio 44116. Before this, bands would tend to send them to his house in New Orleans or hand him a tape in a club.

Meanwhile, NIN's epic album, The Fragile, is not just the band's fastest-selling album: it also made Billboard history by taking the largest drop from No. 1 in the history of The Billboard 200 -- it fell to No. 16 last week, as reported in Fred Bronson's "Chart Beat" column in the Oct. 16 issue of the publication. This week, the double album is No. 25.
